game involvement
Current Job: Barrister in the International Magical Office of Law, Department of International Magical Cooperation.

Political Group: Death Eater.

Political Knowledge: Obviously the other Death Eaters know that he is one of them, and he knows them pretty well, too. His closest family members know, as well, but this is limited to just his parents, and his wife. Not even his dear younger brother knows about his involvement.

Skills: Eddie is an asset, in the sense that he is outwardly a well-bred, polished and diplomatic barrister. With his position in the Ministry, he is capable of hearing about certain whereabouts that is useful to the agenda of the Death Eaters, and he is more than happy to pass along these tidbits. Because of his polished language skills, he is an extremely convincing liar. No one needs to doubt whether he is telling the truth or not, because Edward Yaxley never lies. On the magical front, Eddie is talented when it comes to duelling. He considers himself to be an exceptional dueller, and while he might not have any sorts of trophies to show off his true talent, he believes that he is brilliant, nonetheless.

Politics: He is a Knight of Walpurgis, and damn proud of it. While Eddie might not be shouting this out from the top of a roof, it isn't exactly the most difficult thing to decipher. He has always considered himself to be better and smarter than any Muggle-born or half-blood or hell, even a blood traitor. He despises those sorts of people, and while he tries to not make a scene while interacting with them, he quite literally maintains as much distance as humanly possible. As far as it goes, Eddie believes that mud-bloods have no place in their society, and there is simply no reason to welcome them. And there is absolutely no way he is going to change his mind, just because a couple of lunatics want some bizarre form of "equality". Mud-bloods aren't deserving of equality, when it's clear that they are thieves of magic. He makes plenty of comments that are obvious to where his allegiances are, and Eddie doesn't make it a habit of hiding. He has a clear view of how life ought to be, and he isn't going to let people make him think otherwise. What's so bloody strange about wanting to live away from filth, anyway? His loathing for muggles and muggle culture has made him bit of a sadist, and he honestly takes pleasure with their killings.

Past War Involvement: Eddie took the mark, proudly, in the spring of 1975 and has been trying to please the Dark Lord at every given opportunity. His first kill was on February 3, 1976, when he killed the owner of "Charmingly Yours", Harrison Walker. Not to be a complete baby, he couldn't go without finishing off, what Eddie presumed to be, Walker's wife and child, along with four other customers. It is a date that has been etched in his memory, and a date that makes him smile fondly. Ahh, first killings. He was also one of the Death Eaters that burned down the family home of a blood-traitor family on November 7, 1977. The most recent event was on October 25, 1979, during the Battle of Broken China. Eddie was severely injured after a rather harsh hex left his left leg motionless for a few weeks. He was bitter about it, oh yes, he was.

War Effort: N/A.

details
20 Word Sentence Describing Your Character: An under-the-radar Death Eater, Eddie takes pride in serving the Dark Lord, while maintaining a cool, composed and diplomatic look.
Personal History: Edward Henry Yaxley was born just to a pair of very young parents. As it was practically customary for Pure-blooded families to push their sons and daughters together, the Burkes and the Yaxleys insisted that their daughter and son try to work things out. And they did, somehow, and they did marry. So when Edward was born just a year after they married (and they married right out of Hogwarts, mind you), Aurelius and Ephemera had a difficult time trying to figure out how to raise their child. He was coddled more than necessary by Ephemera, plenty of people would say, but it was something that Edward was accustomed to, and only felt that it was overbearing years later. Meanwhile, Aurelius had decided that he would "make a man" out of his son. At a young age, Edward learned that he had to treat his father with the uttermost respect, and he still maintains the same cordial respect, to this day.

For most of his childhood, Edward was an only child. He was home-schooled, in order to prepare for Hogwarts, but Edward picked up an interest in Quidditch fairly young. When he wasn't forced to study, he would often have the wireless on, listening to matches. It was this passion that eventually led Edward to playing Chaser for the house Quidditch time when he was old enough. By the time Edward had turned nine, his younger brother, Dominic, had been born. Edward was old enough to understand that his brother would have more attention than him, but it didn't mean that he was any happy about it. He would pinch and prod Dominic whenever the baby wasn't supervised, just to see the baby cry. He took some sick pleasure in causing pain to the thing that took attention away from him. He, truthfully, hated the baby, and did not appreciate it (he actually did not relent referring to Dominic as "it" until he was back from Hogwarts during his first year, and finally started to actually care for his brother) crawling around everywhere and messing his things up.

So naturally, he was glad to be going to Hogwarts. As if there was any sort of doubt about whether he would receive his Hogwarts letter, at all. He was sorted into Slytherin, and he was quite pleased to have been sorted in the same house as his father once had. At Hogwarts, he made his friends, fairly quickly, though he did maintain a distance around those people that he just did not think were worthy of his friendship. He excelled in his classes, though he wasn't necessarily the best of his year. He studied hard, however, because he did believe that education was an important part of his life. When he was old enough, he made the Quidditch team, and as a Chaser, at that. The rush of excitement that came from flying is one of his favourite feelings, and he appreciates it very much. Eddie was never given a position of power, which he had been disappointed by, because he was certain that he was hardworking enough to be a Prefect or Head Boy, or hell, even the Quidditch captain. While he was bitter about it, he got over it, quickly enough, thankfully.

After he was finished with Hogwarts, Eddie, coupled with both his exceptional N.E.W.T. marks as well as his father's influence, got a job in the Department of International Magical Law. At first, it was just a desk job, that consisted of him reporting to older barristers, but after working hard, he, himself, became one, as well. He had eventually moved out of home, and to London, instead, to be closer to work, but Eddie was restless. As much as he liked his work, he felt as though something was missing. That was when an opportunity came knocking. The Dark Lord was recruiting, and he had the wonderful chance that he could not miss out on. Eddie proudly took the Dark Mark (only telling his parents about; something that his father rejoiced in, while his mother shuddered with disbelief) in the spring of 1975. Eddie wasn't sure what he had imagined, but all he knew was that being a Death Eater felt good. He had the opportunity to get rid of all the filth that surrounded their lives, and he just couldn't say no. He was practically at the Dark Lord's beck and call, and he didn't dare do anything that would defy his position within the group. He had partaken in plenty of battles and attacks, but Eddie has never, not even for one second, regretted the mark.

Meanwhile, on a much more personal front, Eddie had been introduced to one Jocelyn Gibbon. It was hardly an "introduction" considering she was the younger sister of one of his best mates, Jamie, but for the purposes of all storytelling, it was an introduction, nonetheless. They were to be married, their parents had decided, and while Eddie didn't really mind (he considered the Gibbons to be of the good variety, after all), he didn't want to get married at that point in his life. But arguing with his parents was going to be futile, and he knew that. So he courted and wooed his would-be-wife as it was expected of him, and although he hadn't expected to fall in love with her, he did. But deciding that he ought to give her the chance to decide for herself (regardless of what their parents thought), he decided to tell her about his involvement with the Death Eaters. Thankfully, Jocelyn seemed to have the same beliefs he did, and their wedding happened without a glitch. It has been nearly a year since their wedding, and now there are different pressures being put on them -- namely for a grandchild.

Canon Information: From HP-Lexicon:
An inner circle Death Eater who, like Lucius Malfoy and Avery, was never captured and sent to Azkaban (HBP2, DH1). Consequently, he was in a position of trust at the Ministry and well-placed for Voldemort's takeover in 1997 (DH1) and served as a high official in the Ministry while the Death Eaters were in charge.

High level or not, he had trouble with his office raining (DH12). He sat on the Muggle-Born Registration Commission with Umbridge (DH13) and managed to grab hold of Hermione when she was Apparating, and ended up inside the Fidelius Charm around Number 12 Grimmauld Place (DH14).

During the fighting in the Entrance Hall during the Battle of Hogwarts, Yaxley dueled with Flitwick. After the lull while everyone though Harry was killed, the battle resumed and this time Yaxley was taken out by George Weasley and Lee Jordan (DH36).
